Royal Commission hearings into TWU underway
23 June 2014
The Royal Commission into Trade Union Governance and Corruption will hold a hearing into the Transport Workers’ Union (TWU) in Sydney from Wednesday 2 July 2014.
Advertisements, which appeared in newspapers across the country, incorrectly stated that the hearing would commence on Monday 2nd July 2014. The correct day is Wednesday 2 July 2014.
Proceedings are scheduled for three days from Wednesday 2 July to Friday 4 July at Level 5, 55 Market Street, Sydney to deal with matters associated with the TWU, an employee association listed in the Terms of Reference (b)(v) of the Letters Patent.
A hearing involving the TWU opened in Perth today when the Royal Commission heard from a witness, Mr Paul Bracegirdle, about matters associated with TWU Super.
A transcript of those proceedings will be available online at: www.tradeunionroyalcommission.gov.au/Hearings.
A witness list for the Sydney hearing will be available online once finalised.
