Hearings into the AWU to resume in October
24 September 2015
The Royal Commission has set aside 10 days for hearings into the AWU in Sydney between October 12 and 23.
The hearings will be governed by Practice Direction 13 which relates to matters including Thiess John Holland, ACI/O-I Glass, Cleanevent, Unibuilt, Winslow Constructions, Chiquita Mushrooms and Downer EDI.
At this stage the Commission does not propose to recall the Hon. Bill Shorten as a witness. However, during the course of the inquiry, affected parties may seek authorisation to cross examine Mr Shorten.
In the event that such an application is made, it will be considered in due course.
A witness list for the AWU hearing block will be released in early October.
